Executive Director

Aline is a community organizer, activist and development professional. She has extensive experience working with Palestinian and international nonprofits whose missions are focused on advancing social justice and equality for individuals and communities that experience systemic discrimination. She has close ties with a broad range of civil society organizations and frequently provides advice and support to help nurture their efforts.

Deputy Director

Jessica joined the team in 2013, motivated by the vision of combining data and story to advance human rights communication. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to collaborate on many VP projects as a researcher, copywriter, and project manager, and has also supported day-to-day operations.
Sandy

Sandy

Administrator

Prior to joining VP, Sandy spent 8 years with the Beirut DC Cultural Association, developing expertise in NGO administration. She now handles VP's accounting and HR. Sandy has a Bachelor's degree in Social Science and a Master's degree in Anthropology. (Profile updated 2015).

Yosra

Yosra

Artist

Yosra holds a Bachelor degree in Applied Sciences and Arts from the German University in Cairo, Egypt. Her work revolves around sociopolitical and anthropology-related topics that examine the diverse concerns of the region. With a particular focus on constructive research, Yosra aims to deliver her concepts in a variety of mediums that range from infographics, illustrations, photography, and street art, to typography and digital art. Yosra’s BA project was exhibited at Global Grad Show 2016 in Dubai. Her work was also featured in the CairoNow exhibition in Dubai, and the 100BAP exhibition in Amman, Abu Dhabi, and Cairo. Nasreen is a multidisciplinary graphic designer, illustrator, and researcher whose work centers on the intersection of graphic design and justice-oriented movement work. She joined the VP team in 2021.
Rasha Sansur

Rasha Sansur

Outreach Specialist

Born and raised in Palestine, Rasha Sansur holds a Master’s degree in Communications and Development from Ohio University, with a background in journalism and sociology. She has extensive experience in communications and resource mobilization. She believes in the values of the #ShiftThePower movement, where she advocates for a shift in developmental priorities and demands that people have a say in their development. Her work includes dissecting the sector's language to become more accurate and representative. She also uses her skills to influence positive social changes in Palestine and works on shifting the negative narratives often associated with Palestine and Palestinians.

Ahmad is an information designer and architect with a decade of professional experience. He is involved in all stages of infographic production and has facilitated workshops with Mozilla Festival, Tactical Technology Collective and Columbia University Studio X. Fadi is an urbanist, interdisciplinary design strategist and management professional. He shares ten years of collaborative experience in planning and architecture, process design and infographics, and critical research and social advocacy. He is editor of the book At the Edge of the City (2010) and recipient of the Basil Fuleihan Innovative Good Governance Award (2008). Joumana al Jabri

Joumana al Jabri

Co-Director, 2011-2020

Co-founder of Visualizing Impact and its primary project Visualizing Palestine. Joumana’s work revolves around introducing creative processes to address pressing social issues affecting individuals and communities in the Arab region. She served as a co-curator of TEDxRamallah in 2011. She is also a co-founder of Febrik, a collaborative platform for participatory art and design research projects concerned with social practices in public spaces, with a particular focus on Palestinian refugee camps. Joumana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design, USA. She also holds an MBA from the EuroMBA program, a consortium of six European universities including EADA, UCD and Maastrich University. She is a Synergos 2013-2014 Arab World Social Innovator fellow. Kelsey Gallagher is a recent graduate of the Honors Specialization Political Science program at Western University, with special interests in critical Canadian security studies and emerging conflict zones. His previous research mandates focused on civil-military relations in the Philippines and the politics of Spanish-American merchant vessels in the 18th century. He is an editor and contributor to The Caspian Report, and enjoys exploring alternative political organization and the geopolitics of the Middle East. (Profile updated 2016).

Musab is a translator and linguist who grew up in Syria with Palestinian parents. Musab studied in Homs, Damascus, and Oxford universities. He is a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting in the UK, and also worked for a while as an editor of the Arabic edition of Forced Migration Review, published by the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford. Nour Bishouty is an interdisciplinary artist and designer based in Toronto. Her work, which takes the forms of image, video, object and text, explores issues pertaining to identity and the production of history. Nour holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and was a fellow at the 2014/15 Home Workspace Program at Ashkal Alwan in Beirut. She was an inaugural resident artist at Twenty-Three Days at Sea, traveling artist residency. Her work has been exhibited in venues such as Access Gallery in Vancouver, Beirut Art Centre, Makan House in Amman, Helen Day Art Centre in Stowe VT; Casa Arabe in Madrid and Cordoba SP; and the Mosaic Rooms in London.
Reem Farah

Research and Projects Coordinator

Reem is a graduate of the University of Toronto with a joint specialist bachelor degree in International Relations and Peace, Conflict, and Justice Studies. She has been involved in civil society organizing in the Arab world, ground research in Bosnia-Herzgovina, and an equity development project in Colombia. She is passionate about social justice, solidarity activism, and speaking truth to power. (Profile updated 2016).

Robin is a graduate of Bates College with a BA in Politics and Anthropology. As a student, he conducted fieldwork on right-wing extremism in Sri Lanka and took on a leadership role in Palestine solidarity organizing. Following graduation, he worked with two Palestinian organizations based in Haifa – Mada al-Carmel: Arab Center for Applied Social Research, and the Arab Cultural Association. His writing on Middle Eastern politics has been featured in The Electronic Intifada and The New Arab. (Profile updated 2017)

Shireen is a consultant, researcher, and human rights activist with a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University. Her work has focused on the intersections of human rights violations and mental health in protracted conflict, and reproductive health issues in marginalized communities. She has worked with NGOs in the US and Lebanon on domestic and regional public health issues, as well as with several UN bodies. Her published work includes academic research and social commentary.
